Why do we need a new organisation for trade union solidarity with Bhopal? Surely the Bhopal disaster was a long time ago? Well yes, you might say that. It certainly started over 30 years ago. ..
But the Bhopal disaster is a catastrophe that is far from over. Not only that, Bhopal in many many appalling ways exemplifies the toxic globalisation which pollutes our environment and harms our health, with those responsible rarely held properly to account. The Trade Union Friends of Bhopal, taking its lead and inspiration from the Bhopal survivors campaigns for justice for the victims of toxic industries.
Join Us!! We are a network of trade unionists seeking to raise awareness and build solidarity with survivors of the Bhopal disaster - one of the worst human-made catastrophes in history - in their fight for justice. The fight is for justice for all victims of toxic globalisation and for a global system that puts protection of human life and our environment at the centre. For all our sakes, this is a fight we cannot afford to lose.
